CYANCO produces a liquid sodium cyanide product that is used to leach precious metals like gold and silver from low-grade ore bodies.
Traditionally, sodium cyanide has been produced commercially in dry "briquette" form. These briquettes were delivered to gold mining companies in plastic-lined plywood boxes or metal bins. Gold mines were then required to store, handle and dissolve the dry cyanide to produce a usable liquid.
In 1990, CYANCO revolutionized Nevada's sodium cyanide market with deliveries of liquid sodium cyanide. CYANCO's liquid product is ready for the customer to use without additional handling or labor. Using liquid sodium cyanide has increased the safety of gold mining in the Western United States and has saved the mining industry millions of dollars in manpower and inventory costs.
